Job profile of Telecom Maintainer (TCM) 

Telecom maintainer (TCM) will be in charge of maintaining Telecom equipments in a section of Railways comprising a few stations - both normal maintenance and attendance during failure.
The work indoor as well as outdoor where Railway communication equipments are provided.
Responsible to maintain Railway Phones, Control phones, Station announcement systems, telegraph lines etc.
As the job demands extensive stay outdoors in remote locations it is not advisable to women.
TCM works under the control of Junior Engineer(Telecom).

Technician Gr II GP 2400

Junior Engineer JE(Telecom) GP 4200

Normally promotions upto Gr I comes quickly within couple of years, but after it can take longer depending on Division.

Qualification :
Tech GrIII - I) Matriculation plus course completed Act Apprenticeship/ITI in Electrician/ Fitter/Wireman/ Electronics/Information Technology/ TV & Radio or ii) 10+2 with Physics and Maths or iii) Three year Diploma in Engineering in Electrical/ Electronics/Microprocessor/ Industrial Electronics/ TV Engineering/ Fibre Optical Communication/Electronic Instrumentation/ Communication / Sound & TV Engineering/Industrial control/ Information Science/Information Technology/Process control/ Telecommunication/Applied Electronics/Computer Application/Computer Networking/Data Networks/Power Electronics/Digital electronics/Radio Engineering from a recognized institution approved by AICTE.

Selection Process :
Written Examination followed by Document Verification.

Technician Gr III : 12 months

Technician Gr III - GP 1900 / Rs. 19900 initial pay as per 7th CPC + Other admissible allowances.
